The essential oil is steam distilled from the leaves and branches of the kajaputa tree. The name Cajaput comes from the Malay "Caju-Balts", which means white tree. Kayaput essential oil has a yellowish-green hue and a sweet herbaceous aroma.

Effects: antibacterial, bactericidal, antiseptic (lungs, urine, intestines), antimicrobial, mild analgesic effect, antipyretic and diaphoretic, helps against infections and diseases of the throat, bronchi and respiratory tract, promotes expectoration in case of cough, used in cases of flu, asthma, bronchitis , relieves muscle and rheumatism pain.
